Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by dill on Oct 28, 2006 1:53:35 GMT 1, Very Sad news about the kissing coppers in Brighton i'm affraid. I was walking down trafalgar street tonight pas the Albert pub and saw that some nob head has taken a black spray can and totally and i mean totally obliterated the kissing coppers. all that is left of it is two black feet sticking out of the bottom of a big black spraypainted stain. I was going to take a picture - but it is just too depressing. That was a real landmark in this city. I can't imagine who would do such a thing...a pissed off policeman?? a rabid homophobe??...who knows...he is lucky i didn't catch him....the kissing policemen i fear is gone forever.

Agent> Float mounting is technically using double sided sticky tape under the print to adhere it to the mounting board. It will have been done with acid free removalable tape so im told it should not leave a mark.
To be honest, that is the best way to frame an LA print as the deckled edge is soo pretty. Either that of use one of those clear perspex frames that is used on the first page of this thread for the Jack & Jill.
Looks great though Agent, congrats! Are they aluminium or wood frames?

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by HowAboutNo on Oct 28, 2006 10:38:22 GMT 1, Heres the George Best.....
On a slightly (hopefully) better note, Pulp Fiction wall @ Old Street has been painted back to completely black since Wednesday/Thursday - last time that happened (just a while before L.A) within days PF2 was up. I think Banksy is the only one who bothers to go up and give himself a fresh "canvas" there.
Taggers just go over anything and everything. The t**t who has sprayed coppers is probably just a stupid arse who wants to tell all his mates how it was him that did it. I hope they beat him up if he does ;D
Oh, and they have nearly finished strengthening Banksy's Bridge a little further down the road too...but the contractors have painted it nice and fresh, all waiting for him to turn up again...fingers crossed! After all I would think he is here purely to sign prints? Unless they were all done and he has signed them already and fooked off!
Sorry, yeah, I thought I had posted a big long reply to you AgentB about your prints. They are very cool The long version included that I first saw that style of framing at the British Museum, and its was how I then decided I wanted to do all my prints that way (none framed as of yet, Christmas resents to myself!) The talk at the time on the forum was "acid free", "archival" and all the rest of it, so I asked them how they did it and they said it is a form of velcro that has no damaging/bad properties to the print.....British Museum's a good enough authority for me!!

Thanks, lesroy! They're wood. Thought giving it the gallery look would be good. Besides, it was cheaper than aluminum ;D

"No damaging/bad properties" sounds good! And yep, if the British Museum does it, it works for me! Would the prints + the framing be the most expensive Christmas presents you've ever given yourself? My prints definitely were... and they're probably gonna be my Christmas present for the next 2 years. Be sure to post pictures here after they're done!
hi there Agent bacardi, love the way you have had your prints framed!!! A bit of a cheeky question!! but roughly what was the cost?
Thanks gordy! ;D I know nothing about framing, and didn't know anything about float mounting until the framer guy suggested it to me... said that the deckled edges are screaming to be shown. It was quite pricey - each print cost me about US$200 to frame (I would say that's about ยฃ110). And that was with a discount of US$50 for each frame. Bless the genius who invented the concept of credit cards! ;D
not the best shots in the world bit you get the idea ;D
I love how you did your Pulp Fiction! I think I'm going to do that for my J&J... how much did that frame job cost you? (Is it even a frame job when there's really no frame involved?) What would I say to my framer to get that style?

Great pics mate the framing looks really good.... Its nice to see all the darker "black" prints together like that!
Im in the same boat as Agent... I really want one of these clear frames that you see on your pulp fiction and on the Jack & Jill on the 1st page of this thread (aparently that came from Habitat?).
Nice collection though senna... you got any swaps from your set?
