Looks great up on the wall, simple white mount and a simple frame, takes nothing from the print but still looks classy . When the lights on it it comes to life. By the way people i still have none of them respect things...come on..be kind.

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by johnas on Mar 26, 2007 14:21:05 GMT 1, picked these up on Saturday. Am a bit disappointed with the Faile - it's float mounted and seems to be curling already and doesn't look flat (see last photo). have spoken to the framer and they said they can't flatten it anymore (i don't have a portfolio to flatten 'em out but I think I may get one now)

They look great but i think that the framer should have flattened out the faile properly before mounting it. My framers sometimes leave the prints to flatten out over a week or so as it can take a while
You dont need a portfolio to flatten stuff out just a coulpe bits of acid free mounting board and big pile of records. ;D

Great framing on the Faile too, but I do see the problem, I think that needs some attention. How long did the framer have the print? if they had it longer than a week they should of been able to flatten it for you.

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Strange Al on Mar 26, 2007 14:49:33 GMT 1, Johnas - I think both really work. Simple, but effective!
As CBL says, the Faile needs a bit of attention. If they really can't flatten it (worth asking again), looks like you'll have to get a simple black mount cut. You'll only lose sight of the very edges of the print and will look much cleaner than the current curl.

thanks JJ - tend to agree with that. guess it's worth going back to 'em and trying them again

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by dkla on Mar 26, 2007 16:59:46 GMT 1, I actually like it with the curl. Granted I'm not seeing it in person, but unless you can see the tape in back of it, I kind of like the way it looks -- looks more like it came from the street to me. If a new framer can't flatten it out, don't let it ruin your enjoyment of it.
All of that said, this is a lesson to all of us that we really need to take our unframed prints out of the tubes and store them flat. I'm guilty of that as well, and seeing this post is like a bit of a wake-up call.

i know where you're coming from, that's why I wanted it float mounted. The prob is, I'm convinced the top and bottom have curled to the extent they're touching the glass
Anyways, I've spoken to the head honcho at the framers and he's told me to take it back in and they'll do all the can to resolve the issue. There's hope yet !

Just a few photo's of a couple of Misteraitch prints from his 'Blood for Oil series.
Absolute bargain got the frames from Asda £3.50 each. If that's not got you slapping your arse singing frigging ''Asda Price'' then nothing will.
