Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by krazy on Apr 14, 2007 7:03:40 GMT 1, OK.. I've decided to post up most of my collection.. it'll take up a couple of pages, so instead of doing it all at once, I'll do it bit by bit (in no particular order)...
About 50% of what I have is on display.. I rotate it around sometimes to keep it interesting..
Unkown (this was a present..)
John Fan - untitled

KAWS - Tokion bus stop painting - Original (1/1), signed.

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by krazy on Apr 14, 2007 9:43:28 GMT 1, Some more.. some of these are framed. All of my frames are quite simple, so as not to take away from the art that's on display (white frame, white single matting). I'm rethinking that for some of my pieces after seeing what you guys have done!
KAWS - Miffy original canvas (1/1) - signed on the back
Futura UNKLE - I sold this one already (couldn't think of how to display it.. do I sold it..
Invader - Albino invader
KAWS - White gloves s/n
Kozyndan - Bunnies 'heart' chewy
BANKSY - Grin Reaper s/n
One more to come...

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by krazy on Apr 14, 2007 9:48:04 GMT 1, Here's the final group.... I've got more, but they're locked away and I haven't photographed them. You're probably bored of looking at my collection by now anyway..
DFace - Dog Save the Queen
Jamie Hewlett - THe Hick (I sold this.. still not sure why)
KAWS - Chum (these are huge) s/n - same series.
Rostarr - Ecole Samurai - original (that's Rostarr in the photo).. the print is waiting to be hung in my living room.
KAWS (again!) - Bart Kimpson - Original sketch (signed) - I'm considering selling this one.
I think that's it... .

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Run Pig Run on Apr 14, 2007 9:54:26 GMT 1, AB - As you're planning to archive the thread. I know that this has been suggested before, but is there any way of migrating all of the images (i.e., without all the text) to a single folder? It would be awesome that have all the images of people's frame jobs in one place, without the banter in between (which is fun at the time, but tedious when looking for inspiration). Obviously, it would be nice to include the details of whose pictures they are. I know exactly what you mean - a photos-only gallery would be a great thing to have. Often times I want to refer to a frame job that someone did, and I'll have to fish through tons of pages and text to find it. I'll talk it over with Silky and see what I can do
I started to save all the images with a view to doing something like this, but I got to around page twenty and soon lost the will to live. but it would be great to have them in sections, say you wanted to see all the rats in one hit.

I can't! They're in storage in another country at the moment. I won't be seeing them for at least a few months! I can't even remember what's in there.
fyi: changed my name... didn't like the old one.

Thanks... it's took me forever to find a nice plain white frame! Most framers only have this style in black. On my first attempt, the framer actually took a blackframe and painted it!! It looked terrible! These are special order frames that the framer gets for me. I also use UV Acrylic, and proper dust and moisture-proof seals on the frame. They're not cheap, but at least I don't have to worry too much about the art getting ruined!

Also that Miffy canvas with the plastic "action figure" overlay is genius -- I forgot about those. Where do you find this stuff? Respect to you for an impressive collection ;D ;D ;D

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by nombei on Apr 14, 2007 19:30:45 GMT 1, ok, here's one to show people what not to do with a canvas...
this was made by a friend of mine in college for one of his classes back in 1992. i can't remember his full name, but we always called him Big Pete (cuz there was another, not as big Pete too) it was originally on a wood box frame, but when everyone had to move back home no one had a way to transport a 5 foot x 5 foot canvas.... it was gonna get tossed so i did the only reasonable thing - break the frame!
what made me post this up, is when i unrolled this today i was actually taken by the fact that he was using stencils and spray paint way back then! some of the stencil stuff was cut out and some was done by spraying over the actual item. pretty cool.
have no idea what happened to him after college, but hope this makes him happy.

I too preferred the LA edition with the gold frame, I think it really brought the message of the print out, but it seems Banksy has chosen to draw attention to the money aspect- my eyes go straight for the green price rather than the frame.
I cant wait for mine to come now. I bought a large antique style swept frame at the weekend which im hoping to squeeze it into!
