Love this guys images, ideas, creations. Multiple layers of ridiculous detail, at first glance it all it appears perhaps quite simple, yet there's a lot more going on. I'm a big fan of his work. Brilliant in my humble opinion.

Artists You Might Not Know, by ABC on Oct 9, 2013 17:27:53 GMT 1, Michael Adams
Visited the RCA artist Michael Adams today at his house. His wife Heather kindly gave me a tour of the stunning gardens where he paints and has spent the last 40 years in his studio. I met him whilst he was painting in his studio in the gardens, spent around two hours at his place, what a lovely couple, they even made me a local brew from Star fruit (whatever that is), Michael is a true gent. I didn't know a lot about him prior, apart from he was in the same class a Hockney at RCA, but I'm going to be putting his work on my walls for sure , it's absolutely stunning. OG's are a little out of my range though (60,000 Euros) for 50x70cm ish.
His silk screen printing is next level though, I've never seen anything so good. His larger prints are over 100 silk screens with added litho!!! he said he couldn't get them produced in the UK as no one was good enough (there's a statement for someone to challenge). The one I purchased only had 98 screens and took him nearly two months to paint and more to produce. I did wince though when his wife stuffed the print in a drainpipe so I can get it back to the UK.
His site is here www.michaeladamsart.com/silkscreens.html
A few snaps from today. My new print is the one below on the left.
The man
His inspiration from his garden
Check his daughters work too www.jungle.sc/

Artists You Might Not Know, by melize on Nov 17, 2013 4:47:36 GMT 1, Per AndresenHaving seen Rae's canvases on here recently and being familiar with Kokian, I thought I'd share with you an artist I came across in Denmark last year. I have not seen his work on here and donโt know how widely-known he is. I am guessing that continental Europeans might be aware of him as he has painting for a long time and was formerly a graffiti artist. I think he showed for the first time in the UK in a group exhibition at the Brick Lane Gallery around Easter so maybe some of you caught that. I now own the first two (acrylic and collage on canvas) - the third and fourth I really like are from his Facebook page - there's a whole album of his work HERE Working my way through new stuff - I really like this - strong sense of the spirit of Basquiat and even Twombly

Sorry but I'm not seeing the Twombly connection. And I am a huge fan.

Artists You Might Not Know, by Stoko on Nov 17, 2013 15:25:51 GMT 1, This guy is a fan of a band I'm in and submitted some portraits of us and I'm blown away by his style. He's really humble and unsure of his abilities; what do you think? His name is Arne Ward from Hamburg, I'm looking into getting some of his work as prints in the near future, I think the guy is a genius and his work is even better in the flesh
