Artists You Might Not Know, by MR. T on Apr 30, 2014 15:51:57 GMT 1, The contest for the print giveaway is finish! We have a winner: Ed Smithson. The lucky number was 99. Thank you all for your participation.
I came on this forum to show my work, get feedback from art enthusiast/expert, discover new artist and learn more about art in general. With this draw I was hoping to make people happy giving and shipping one of my print for free. I did not expect to have someone telling me a ripping off another artist...
I went on this UK artist web site and it clear to me he had the idea first and used it quite a lot in his work… so I won’t exploit this idea anymore. It suck!
Anyways I have a lot of other ideas in my bag!
My next print will be about Passport… Hope there not another artist out there doing just passport Art?
Thanks again to member who give feedback and good advice.
Cheers

Artists You Might Not Know, by Gard on May 14, 2014 19:59:34 GMT 1, While we're talking about Norwegian artists. I was with a gallery in New York for the art fairs last week and they exhibited Kristoffer Myskja at Nada. He makes beautiful machines with absolutely no purpose except the one thing they are made for, and he handcrafts every part of it. He got a machine that's covering up a stick of gold, a machine that argues with itself in a made-up language, a machines that's smoking and more. Take a look at his works.

American abstract painter John Knuth
Knuth is one of my favourite artists at the moment; I find his work very interesting and thought provoking. This particular body of work is produced by feeding food containing pigment to flies. Flies don't have any teeth to break down their food and they therefore effectively vomit on the surfaces to feed and the acidic vomit then breaks down the food so that they can digest it. Because the food they've previously ingested contains pigment when they vomit they leave a tiny coloured dot on the canvas and it's these thousands of tiny, delicate dots which make up these beautiful paintings.
The process involved in producing these beautiful works is deliberately unpleasant and repugnant to provoke wider questions of whether ends justify means. For example, does greater security justify the NSA/GCHQ's invasive surveillance of the population?

Just shown my son, who immediately said they are awesome, and I should buy one! Fascinating stuff. Love it. Thanks for sharing.
