Artists You Might Not Know, by Feral Things on May 15, 2014 21:21:58 GMT 1, Your son has great taste! I hadn't thought about who's actually the artists; it's an interesting point. I mentioned the artist to a mutual friend of ours who broadly speaking works in science and their first thoughts were about what influences the distribution and clustering of the dots. It's interesting what different thoughts and reactions the work brings out in people.
EDIT: You can pick up a signed, numbered and screenprinted poster from his last show for the bargain price of £18.33 from here.

Artists You Might Not Know, by searchandrescue on May 15, 2014 21:46:03 GMT 1, An artist I did not know. They are beautiful. I would love to see them in person. I rather suspect that one becomes emersed in them, as one does a Rothko. Thanks feral. Sorry, put it up and took it down again but here they are again. American abstract painter John KnuthKnuth is one of my favourite artists at the moment; I find his work very interesting and thought provoking. This particular body of work is produced by feeding food containing pigment to flies. Flies don't have any teeth to break down their food and they therefore effectively vomit on the surfaces to feed and the acidic vomit then breaks down the food so that they can digest it. Because the food they've previously ingested contains pigment when they vomit they leave a tiny coloured dot on the canvas and it's these thousands of tiny, delicate dots which make up these beautiful paintings. The process involved in producing these beautiful works is deliberately unpleasant and repugnant to provoke wider questions of whether ends justify means. For example, does greater security justify the NSA/GCHQ's invasive surveillance of the population? Nice work.....interesting. 'minds me of Seth Brundle

Artists You Might Not Know, by opalis141 on May 19, 2014 19:00:15 GMT 1, I got some really great feedback on the first two pieces of mine I posted here, so I thought I would share my latest work, I've been putting it together for a long time--it is my first go at a triptych (and always I appreciate feedback!):

Brilliant..best thing I've seen on here in ages haha.

Artists You Might Not Know, by 2FIVE8 on May 27, 2014 11:09:26 GMT 1, Hi everyone,
So i'm guessing its ok to talk about myself here? I am a street artist concerned with public space and how it is governed, Its illegal for me to what I do, but ok for the people with most money to put up what they like in our public space. This lead me to create my own billboard branded with a popular advertising companies logo and show it in public space. The billboard appears blank at first but is user activated, as you walk past the piece, sensors are triggered and turn lights on one by one revealing a hidden word, WANKERS, my interpretation on what the bosses of these outdoor advertising companies think of us, the people who have to use this space without ever having had any say if advertising was ok. If we wish to not be exposed to adverts on the internet, tv or radio then we can stop using these things, we cannot however stop using public space and if we try to put our own messages in that space we are the ones ridiculed.
.
Theres some stills on my site www.2five8.co.uk , i'd post them in here but they won't appear for some reason? So yeah check that out if you like what you see, thanks people!

More light Entertainment and media than art gallery stuff but these days all sorts of rubbish gets promoted by galleries.
Her dad is right in what he says in that its a business and she comes across as a very nice person in her own world but i'm sure she will do very well and make lots of money.

I'll just throw in an endorsement for Liam's work. I came across his art last year and I bought one of his pieces. The artwork is wonderful as is the way he frames and presents his work.
Exceptional value for money. Get a piece whilst it's still affordable.
Proud to have liam in the space//squared exhibition currently at white walls gallery!

Artists You Might Not Know, by wh282 on May 29, 2014 7:07:19 GMT 1, Thanks mattgold, I've often contemplated creating recognisable shapes but at present I'm enjoying trying to trigger some form of emotional response from abstract shapes (I know that may sound slightly w&^ky). Also really keen to try some sculptures using 3D printers, so who knows what the future holds. Cheers Liam Ps: sorry for stealing internet space but here's a few more recent pieces.
