Artists You Might Not Know, by dreadnatty on May 3, 2016 1:54:02 GMT 1, “Quién es el espectador?” (Who is the audience), is the latest mural created by the Spanish artist Laguna in Torreblanca. Antonio Laguna Cabezuelo is considered as one of the most versatile and expressive artists from Spain.
Through his street pieces, Laguna forces viewers to see beauty in place where it is not generally found.
Laguna once again painted a beautiful and fantastic artwork featuring some of his his signature dreamlike and surreal imagery.

Decent image? Did you not see the trainwreck that is her left hand meeting the gun?

Artists You Might Not Know, by Feral Things on May 31, 2016 18:41:41 GMT 1, Ethiopian photographer Aïda Muluneh uses her perfectly crisp images to depict imperfectly ambiguous identities and lives
Australian muralist Adnate uses 17th century European chiaroscuro to depict contemporary Australia
Portuguese stencil artist Daniel Eime produces large scale walls that combine portraiture and abstraction
Eygptian-American artist Ghada Amer uses a wide range of mediums to address issues about gender and the marginalisation of women; the image below at first appears to be an abstract but it is actually made up of dozens of individually stitched female figures
Mexican artist Damián Ortega's work here feels to me like it's both completely static and hurtling through space at the same time

Artists You Might Not Know, by Wearology on Jun 3, 2016 15:09:20 GMT 1, I went to the studio of an amazing up & coming artist named Ivy Nate. She takes donated stuffed animals and gives them a second life as art. I was completely blown away by her skills and Ivy was kind enough to allow me to snap some photos. If you are interested in learning more about her art or purchasing a sculpture, installation or print please send me a PM and I will put you in contact with her directly. Thanks - Wear

She takes donated stuffed animals and gives them a second life as art. Am I the only idiot that was expecting taxidermy? Thanks for posting, I love it when something just comes out of leftfield like this. It's completely different to Ivy Nate's work but when I saw it was stuffed toy animals I was reminded of my favourite short film from Dismaland. There's something strangely magical about hearing the line "Teddy's crotch unicorn is healthy".

That film is crazy good. The narrator's accent is fabulous.
