Artists You Might Not Know, by WOOF on Jan 28, 2017 0:12:27 GMT 1, Am I the only one that thinks this thread should actually be it's own subforum. That way people can post topics about specific artists and have real conversations about them instead of just dropping links with a few pics. Daniel Silk can we look into making that change. And maybe a subforum for art that's not urban/street? Please don't make it too complicated. I like this thread. Not trying to complicate anything. But sectioning it out makes it much easier to actually talk about the artists vs. just scrolling through pictures and then moving on. Right now, this thread is like an instagram account. which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But if a forum is about discussion, this thread doesn't exactly encourage that.
Just sayin'.

I think the introduction of the like button caused that. It's the same with the street art threads. And the get your art out thread. Members click like rather than comment. It's lazy, but a laziness that's encouraged. I'm as guilty of it as anyone. If there was a sub board for artists members might not know, with further sub boards for different genres of work, I would be discouraged posting links and pictures, and if I did members would still just click like, rather than comment (I think). Best way to encourage discussion is do away with the like button.

Artists You Might Not Know, by WOOF on Jan 28, 2017 0:38:05 GMT 1, I definitely agree about the like button
If there was a sub forum for unknown artists,I think ti'd be simple enough without further subforums if people just made the thread something like:
Sebas Velasco [Street art]
of
Richard Learoyd [Photography]

Cyanotype revelation/Alternative photo manipulation. Merging portraits into urban landscapes.
He's starting. Interesting to check where this direction will take him.
Hope you enjoy. Cheers.

Artists You Might Not Know, by nandaman on Feb 9, 2017 16:10:35 GMT 1, Jason Skeldon - Great local artist from Tampa/St. Pete, Florida. super pop-art, but does some really cool stuff. Works with stencil, brush, free-hand, foil, resin - large, brash pieces - but inexpensive and does a lot of commission work. Good guy. Feel free to contact him through social media as well if you wanted a commission.
