Valuations & Insurance, by carl on May 21, 2007 10:53:14 GMT 1, I have signed and unsigned banksy's. The problem is how to value for insurance. Prices ar moving so fast at the moment that a valuation seems to be out of date a few moments after it is given. So do you pitch it way over or what? Ive never insured one item for such a value (apart from my car!)  . The signed prints are Napalm, Hmv, Girl with red balloon (whats the correct name for this print?). Unsigned is Morons, IFTLAW. Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

Valuations & Insurance, by carlito on May 21, 2007 11:01:27 GMT 1, Banksy's work is increasing in price all the time, as aff says find out values from a gallery (as these will be top whack for them) and use these, but make sure you update them every 6-12 months

I enquired about Insurance for Micallef's Minotaur Weapon, and I think it was going to be around an extra ยฃ40 a year for ยฃ5000 worth of cover, which considering contents insurance for the whole house is ยฃ200, seems quite a lot. But what can you do? It has to be done.
I was hoping my Banksy Barcode would slip under the ยฃ1500 valuation also, but one sold for ยฃ1850 on ebay a few days ago (i think...buy now?) so it is difficult to give an accurate valuation.
Hope you get it sorted.

Gallery prices use the most expensive you can find.. there's a BME at 25k somewhere !
