If someone wants a print , has the money, is willing to lift the celling price then good luck to them, Ive done it before and I will do it again if there is something I like. The hype generated from the OEF, Wall candy and here has pushed prices up, we are all to blame to a certain degree.
One thing I would say though, If you knew nothing about banksy of Micallef and their works were worth nothing would you pay ยฃ25 for a Rude Copper or ยฃ400 for 21C girl, not many did at the time as they hung around for ages.
Before all the money makers came along street art was an acquired taste, not anymore, now its fueled with a lot greed and anger as the opportunities are missed.
I'm bitter too, like most when I miss out on a release but its only because I know the reasons for a lot buying nowadays.
