Authenticating Art work, by HRE on Apr 30, 2010 13:53:17 GMT 1, Hi All,
I have some art work including a nice little doodle by Rolf Harris that I wanted to get authenticated with certificate so I have written provenance from a repealable source. Is there anywhere that I can get this done that wont cost an arm and a leg.
Cheers

Authenticating Art work, by jusdeep on Apr 30, 2010 15:21:20 GMT 1, It would all depend on what artwork you have, where you purchased it and if it was a gift, whether you have a paper/electronic trail, photos of said artwork with say 'Rolf signing' etc. If not you could try finding a gallery that specialises in the artists work or obviosly contact the artist himself. Could be quite tricky though depending on where you got the artwork from. Most galleries should have supplied a COA, have replied by email, given you a receipt, bank record details etc. But without knowing exactly what it is quite difficult to say. Obviosly over the years Rolf has probably drawn thousands of Kangeroos so could prove problematic. Saying that unbless the artwork was bought from a gallery i doubt (maybe wrong) they would give a certificate to prove it.
