Hopefully they will stop being greedy tw@ts and settle to sell them for 6 times what they spent rather than 10 times what they spent.... It would be nice, but doubt it will happen....

Now that these artists have really just broken pretty well into the media, one more big "stunt" or whatever could open up the flood gates. That or someone dying... that usually helps, too.

I know its hard to get banksys now but for years they were just sitting there...waiting. And today there are eine, faile and so on, its all brilliant stuff. Runyaga - hear what your saying but its NEVER gonna happen, I had a long chat with LAZ a year ago about this very possibility, I wanted to be sure Banksy wouldnt do a stunt of dropping a thousand gwb's out of an aeroplane or whatever as a fingers up gesture - he asured me in strong terms that he know the man better than anyone and that it would never happen.....hope he wasnt just saying that...

This is an interesting point, I have a graphic reproduction business and could do high quality scans of the original prints and using a litho printer could easily reproduce thousands of replica litho prints and sell them for ยฃ5-ยฃ10 each and make a fortune.
BUT surely it would all run into big trouble, the main issue would be copyright, my arse would be sued. But what if Banksy/Laz decided it was a good idea, it wouldn't lower the prices of the limited edition art screen prints and lots of people out there would be quite happy with a Banksy poster blutacked to their wall, it would be a completely different mass market. My bet is a giant like athena has probably approached this already and got knocked back.
It wouldn't bother me if this happened, it could even give more exposure and interest in his work therefore making the original screen prints more valuable.
