stuck in the past (reworked), by kunstrasen on Oct 5, 2009 13:48:42 GMT 1, realized that the stencil isn't as strong to pop out that much on a silver or gold background. just rushed way to fast into my little project cause there was so much to do. with more patience the result would have been better...
anyway, now i went real messy with acrylic and water on the image to make it more harmonic and the stencil less aggressive. tried to make it look oldish as well that way.
did some tiny bits to the tongue, which was simply rubbish before.
anyway, i like it a lot more now, even though it doesn't look any better in person. ;D

Technically it's really good, great neat stencil work, tongue almost looks like a photo pasted on! And really liking the distressed look, works well!
Only thing i'd say is on a personal level the image isn't really for me, the queen is one of those images that's been done by quite a few artists, and i've never really liked any of them!

It looks very well executed but again the queen wouldn't be an image for me. toura loura, 800 years, fields of athenry and all that...

Agree that it is kind of difficult to go for the queen as an image, because it is used frequently. But my opinion was that you've to do something with the royals at some point.
