Who is 'Iron Tortoise'?, by monochrome on Oct 2, 2006 16:36:28 GMT 1, Now this has been bugging me for a while, and I noted his name was mentioned elsewhere (forget now).
He's a seller, not a buyer on ebay. OK so far. Doesn't sell any Banksy related products - nothing wrong in that.
In his time on ebay, he's only bought one thing.... but the interesting (or dull) fact is that he bids relentlessly on Banksy prints and has yet bought a single print!! He's probably bidding on about 5-10 prints now if you care to look.
If you are Iron Tortoise and are reading this, can I ask why you bid on so many items, yet always pull out at the last minute? It just strike me as odd behaviour to say the least.
Sorry for being nosey.

Who is 'Iron Tortoise'?, by RBK on Oct 2, 2006 17:58:18 GMT 1, I have reason to believe that many of the initial bids on prints are by people who actually own the print, and have no intention of actually purchasing. Me thinks there is a lot of colluding/artificial bidding to create value.

This happens all the time so nothing new there. Although i don't agree with this practise the only way value is created is if somebody is prepared it pay for it.
As far as i'm concerned a two bed house in Kent aint worth ยฃ170000+ but people still pay it which has put me right out of the market

Who is 'Iron Tortoise'?, by gbh on Oct 3, 2006 10:19:05 GMT 1, I bid on loads of prints all the time! ...but never win any luck sadly (coax_k) yet to get my first banksy print. Am kicking my self I didn't buy 6-12 months ago when I first started looking. The price jump of late has just put me out of the game 8=(
