BIDDING QUESTION - EARLY OR LATE ???, by bond on May 16, 2007 8:36:35 GMT 1, Morning all.
We all know how silly the Ebay prices are these days , esp for older prints and signed works. But bearing in mind that the signed bomb hugger is already over ยฃ7 k and has over 4 days to go I was wondering whether board members generally have a set rule re the timing of their bidding.
Nothing sinister in my question ! Just curious . ;D
Personally when i go for something on ebay i watch it until the end and then if the price is right i bid at the last minute but such is the desire for Banksy that the prices always seem to go very high as soon as an item is put on ebay
So my question is , are you an early bidder who's just so keen to get hold of a print that you bid early and get sucked in to a bidding war ?
Or do you leave it late and hope to get it at a lower price ?
cheers.

BIDDING QUESTION - EARLY OR LATE ???, by ell on May 16, 2007 12:37:14 GMT 1, how does that sniping work? do you put a maximum bid?
it depends how much i want/like the item. if i get excited i usually bid, then i wait until it ends, if im not busy. but if it something i quite want but not too bothered about loosing, i bid and hope for the best.

BIDDING QUESTION - EARLY OR LATE ???, by Montubu7 on May 16, 2007 12:40:30 GMT 1, Yep, put a maximum bid in, example: eelus wot u looking at - ยฃ50, depending on which snipe website you use it bangs your last bid in 4-5 seconds before the end of auction & hopefully you walk away a winner................you need to be realistic about your bid though remember, BID ONCE............BID LAST..........BID YOUR MAX

BIDDING QUESTION - EARLY OR LATE ???, by danvnuk on May 16, 2007 13:07:03 GMT 1, Ive used auction sniper for other stuff off Ebay (not Prints - but then, Ive never bought a print off Ebay - yet ;D) great Tool though.
The great thing about sniping is, you can't get caught up in the excitement bidding and go way over what you were prepared to pay - be rational stick in the max your prepared to pay for the item - and keep your fingers crossed.
Also handy if the auctions finish in the early hours etc.
