banksy figure, by will on Dec 6, 2008 12:14:53 GMT 1, It is a good idea, However I competely disagree with the implication of the image that Banksy is just money hungry. He is a fantastic artist and certainly not greedy considering he released the two latest prints at £450.

banksy figure, by bottomburp67 on Dec 9, 2008 13:46:58 GMT 1, Hello all and thanks for the comments good and bad. Just to let you all know I am not in art for a revolution I am in it because I enjoy it and because I like the cash....its that simple. Now as for the Mr Banksy chap I like his work, no question but lets keep it in context, he's a commercial artist who advertises on street walls and I am sure he loves the cash too unless he gives it all to charity in which case many apologies. As you will be aware he takes the p**s out of the old masters and others so its only fair he gets some back as I am sure I will too. And as for the Hirst piece it was menat to be a parody, a little dig at the commercialism which is all a lot of his work is about, work which I happen to like too. And as for the pic with Gilbert and George, didn't Banksy say of one auction of his work "I cant believe you buy this crap?" Enjoy...peace

a true bunny boiler
just highlighting a contradiction thats all.
Will dont you just hate it when you believe an artist isnt in it for the money, but then drops a bombshell, that he actually is, on your lap?
