This is some of the work that the Charity Banksy wanted the money to go to does. Whilst there is all this sh*t flying about as to no online tickets, people bucking the system blah blah blah this was also about raising money to help deprived children with little or no eye sight. All on here who are p*ssed off at not being able to enter / win a print I take it that you can see, all the beneficiary's of the above charity can't, what would you rather? I don't think it does any of us any harm to stop and actually think about what the money was going towards. I'm sick of the moaning and complaining, enough

A SENSE OF PERSPECTIVE, by becksaboo on Dec 10, 2008 14:03:27 GMT 1, Wasn't the charity that the sale from applause went to as well? Definitely a great cause. Who cares about multiple ticket sales? At least the money went on something worthwhile for once.

A SENSE OF PERSPECTIVE, by reg on Dec 10, 2008 15:02:19 GMT 1, At last, something sensible on one a thread amongst the bollix everywhere else.
I said something similar last week - if all the money from all the sales of all the prints have gone to charity (not just our quids from the raffle) then that is a weighty donation and we should all feel very pleased with ourselves rather than bitching about who got / didn't get what....

A SENSE OF PERSPECTIVE, by Existencil on Dec 10, 2008 15:03:17 GMT 1, Yep, I totally agree with this post. I've watched a lot of ranting and raving on here over the last week and it's opened my eye's a bit. The POW day was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for more. Some great art, a great atmosphere and a massive turn out. Everybody at POW was really friendly and there was no sudden rush for the new prints. The charity aspect was also well thought out. When I looked at that long, long line that stretched to Mordor, I just thought about all that cash raised for charity. A good percentage of that line were throthing at the mouth for a Banksy, but at least they were contributing to the cause.

A SENSE OF PERSPECTIVE, by Heavyconsumer on Dec 10, 2008 17:42:54 GMT 1, There's been a lot of money raised this year for some fantastic charities, courtesy of Banksy and POW as well as the members of this forum. I hope that similar initiatives can do as well or even better next year. That's what communities and society in general are supposed to be about! Helping people that need help and the greater good.
