My intention wasn't to compare the careers of Banksy and Warhol, I was more interested in their legacy regarding the number of works they had both produced and made available to the public, knowing full well Warhol had produced a lot more. I wanted to know how how they compared commercially. I'd certainly be interested to know how may prints/canvases Haring made as well and how his resale is. We don't often hear about Haring trading hands on this forum.

Let's just hope Banksy is the one who creates it. I agree that it's inevitable at this point.

Christie's takes their cut but were great in arranging a sale in NYC with me in Japan and the print in the NYC area.

Lots of other Warhol prints in this sale if you want to check Price Realized (= hammer price + commission). That's what you would pay as the buyer. Christie's site I find very useful for checking auction results.

Sort of.
They are supposedly made from the same screens as the real ones but since they have been selling these for decades, I doubt screens hold up that long for that many editions. So really, who knows...
