DFace โข Fools Gold, What Wars are For, by jboy on Jun 30, 2007 20:10:26 GMT 1, I disagree JBOY. Cliche is an awesome print and stands out for me as an iconic piece of work by dface. Just my opinion though
I was not saying it was not an awesome print, i own one - i know!
Im talking about how available they are to people selling them, you got alot more ebayers doing the cli-che selling as they were available to all for ยฃ300 and was an edition of 125.
The fools gold is 75 and only the first 55 people really got one and only a few of those would have been sellers.
The pop tart and fools gold are the best for me followed by cli che as the image is a bit strange. But its all good. Anything by d*face is awesome.

DFace โข Fools Gold, What Wars are For, by discoduster on Jun 30, 2007 20:15:11 GMT 1, I think a lot more prints should be made available through a gallery/exhibition release.
It gives ppl a chance to get one if they really want one, just have to queue for a few hrs.
Better than chucking them online available to all the sharks.

DFace โข Fools Gold, What Wars are For, by snakes on Jun 30, 2007 20:33:22 GMT 1, Yep me too DD & RB. I spent several hours in the cold to wait for a print i would have sacrificed getting the next banksy to get (as there were rumours of a POW release). I also missed out on a days pay too.. I luckily managed to get my most wanted D'face fools gold print, and went home fatigued only to discover borders on the print were larger than "Big Daddies underpants" and it was just too gold for me in the flesh and thats even before mentioning the size of the print. Hands up i put it on ebay, and thats that. Call me a bagger, flipper or whatever, i really am not too bothered. I am a D'face appreciator and would not even consider flogging the prints that i have got and that i like. Its just unfortunate that a lot of the Hype, and hype that has mainly been created by this forum has created such a following that you are no longer able to stand back and appreciate a print in the flesh first before mulling over whether to buy or not. I like many, effectively bought the print unseen (except for images on this forum, that i believed were prior to hitting the cutting room floor) and when i got home i did not like it! I therefore thought the best option was to sell. Slag me off all you like, but over time i have seen many of you too flogging prints for huge profits. Thats my say and thats that. Tata and have a good night!

That's the point of what I'm saying... If you really want one then you're prepared to make the effort.
They didn't have one in Somerset either you know which is why I took the day off, train tickets, hours of queing etc and I'm glad I did.
If POW said the next Banksy would be released 50% at some exhibition and 50% online it would give ppl abetter chance/choice.

There are also many members who I would imagine would put the print up available on this forum to other members for cost + maybe some extra cash to fairly compensate you and make it worth your while. Something to think about?

I was prepared to go to London for Banksy's Flag, but it is quite a trek, which costs money (about ยฃ70 for me not including loss of earnings) it's a fair way for you and for me at least an extra 2 hours. Obviously any print release at an exhibition in London favours the fans (or baggers) in London, so on balance I'd say it's fairer to have the releases on the web.

Fully agree... It's hard to justify a 7+ hour round trip for a print release...

Specially when it's not guaranteed you'll get one, I was really worried when I saw the length of the queue at Santas Ghetto at 9:00 that I thought all the expense and trouble taken might have been wasted.
