Maybe, just maybe, I could understand paying ยฃ95 for a burger. But if I was doing so I wouldn't be buying it from Burger King! Reckon I'd be heading over to Heston Blumenthal's gaff!

It's not cheap, but try & go to the Fat Duck if you can... it's an amazing experience! I wrote about it on my blog when I went last year:

It's in Bray... about an hour outside London... I'm going to be going fairly soon, been meaning to for ages...
I'm just waiting for the El Bulli bookings to open for next year at the moment... A full year booked up in a couple of hours... it's harder than getting a Banksy, but I'm determined to get in for next year ;D

I'm always surprised when people don't look like their avatars - I always imagined you to look like Che Guevara wearing a pair of shades.

It's my music blog.... it used to be very good when I updated it regularly!
The Fat Duck is in a place called Bray just west of London.

After all of yesterday's excitement!, by angryboy on Jun 18, 2008 13:46:08 GMT 1, The Fat Duck is quality, if not a tad expensive, especially if you take the wine taster too. A very memorable evening though.
When I went it was before that sound of the sea dish and we had a pigeon dish instead of the lamb you had.
Up until last Friday it was my favourite restaurant but I think Maze has knocked it off the top spot now, not that the meal was better I could just see myself going to Maze again whereas Fat Duck's more a one off experience.

I think it was your review that made me go last year!
Really is an experience you will never forget. Have to do the taster menu, for the food and the wine.
Plus make sure you are not driving home. Last time i went i think we ended up being there for about six odd hours... and was more than a little squiffy upon leaving
Also in Bray and not to bo overlooked is the Waterside Inn, the Michael Rouxs place. Also 3 Michelin stars and you can stay the night and do breakfast in the morning ;D

Nice review!
Why are these places so obsessed with Foie Gras though? I find it slightly unpleasant, and certainly not worth the revolting way they produced it....

Bookings are taken in mid October - once the season is finished. The date is announced on their website. Season finishes on 5th October so I imagine they will open the book about a week later... it usually is full within the day for the next year

El Bulli - I've heard of that, it's in Spain right? one of the best restaurants in the world apparently.
