Second chance , no chance, by LoveRat on Mar 29, 2006 17:36:50 GMT 1, Just thought I would bring this to everyone's attention as I would hate anyone to get caught .
Recently I have bid on a couple of prints on Ebay, only to be outbid at the last minute (Damn).
A day or 2 later I have received an email saying there is a second chance offer on the print as the original buyer could not complete the transaction.Seemed a bit fishy as there was no mention in My Ebay.
After checking with the original sellers I found that these were fraudulant emails just trying to get me to part with my cash or details.
Be safe out there kids.

Never give out any account or login details to anyone and never pay using money transfer such as Western Union.

Some punks done a good job on it though!! Watch out! or you will be posting off your password and login name the second you press send!

Was less delighted some seconds later when I looked at the bid price (in Malaysian Ringgits - for a UK item), and the email address - ebay@second-chance-offers-program.com (proper emails come from SecondChanceOffer@ebay.co.uk). Also the email was from 'ebay' rather than 'eBay', and puported to be from eBay.com when the item was auctioned and bid for on eBay.co.uk
And the real giveaway was that I had a SECOND Second Chance email, with a completely different email address to contact the seller at!! This one was from ebay-customer-support@ebay.com so slightly convincing for a little while, had the other email not already given the game up.
At the moment I'm generally visiting eBay before my email (to make sure I've not forgotten about any auctions about to end), so had thought it odd there wasn't an offer in my own account.
Luckily I remember reading about this on the board - hence the bump, and my many thanks!! Keep your eyes open people - they're still out there

However my wallet is getting tight - I've just picked up Festival from a US fella ($1270, pleased with that), and am in negotiations for his Applause before it hits eBay... (while keeping an eye on the one that's already on there  )
We should have a thread listing all current 0% credit card offers!!

And while I've been reporting this, I've bagged Applause for $1500! 
Hopefully bringing it up in this thread won't jinx the deal...
