damaged prints, by joelp on Feb 19, 2007 17:43:11 GMT 1, I read stories every so often about someone buying a banksy print and it being crushed in the mail. If someone ever comes across one of these, will you please let me know?
My situation is that I’m a student who doesn’t have much extra money at all yet would still love to own a print for my own enjoyment even if it has creases. Because its resell value would be so low, I wouldn’t be buying it as an investment and would just get it framed and enjoy it myself as something made by one of our generations greatest artist. I’m well aware the price would still be fairly high, considering their original worth. I just figure I could buy it for much less than a normal mint print.
My chances are slim but thought I’d ask. If all else fails, I’ll just have to save up and hope prices don’t increase to Warhol levels (millions for originals and $100,000 prints) by the time I graduate and get a job.
Thanks all.

good find. but, at that price, why not try and get a new PoW release (though thats a crap shoot too!) . Plus, if its just the image you want, why not buy one of those canvas type thingies?

damaged prints, by absyrd on Feb 19, 2007 18:16:09 GMT 1, I might have 2 trashed Insect pieces soon, "The Kid" (full USA version) and "The Kid" (big head version in gold). I'll hook it up for next to nothing if I get to keep them after they've compensated me for the damages.
If you read my framing horror story in that particular section of the forum, you'll know what I'm talking about.

damaged prints, by corblimeylimey on Feb 19, 2007 18:47:05 GMT 1, Why not go for a mint condition 'backdoor' unnumbered print usually less than £500, although I wouldn't like to pay more than £300 tops.

damaged prints, by pastiepie on Feb 20, 2007 1:49:47 GMT 1, You can get warhol marilyn prints for under 20k USD if you look carefully.
If you're really after the image you can just get a high res picture and take it to a printers and get a nice copy for yourself. I've done it for trolley hunters and a few Lichtenstein's to pin up on my partition at work. Backdoor prints are way expensive for what they are now.
