Banksy Painting Bought for £7.00!, by bullet on May 5, 2008 12:32:18 GMT 1, some people might disagree but its a fact that journos have to get the story backed up with fact before it can be reported otherwise they get in all sorts of shit. I used to know someone that works at the snot rag sun newspaper and some might disagree again, but he always had to get his story backed up before it was reported otherwise he would get into trouble, so there must be some fact behind it.
nice story.

Banksy Painting Bought for £7.00!, by becksaboo on May 5, 2008 13:08:52 GMT 1, it depends what media organisation it is. there's always one fact which they can then run with and then completely exaggerate. It depends how big the story is and whether the amount of newspapers they sell will be more than the legal costs if the person decides to do them for defamation.
But the stories are based on one element of fact- it just depends on the whether the person talking to them has a hidden agenda.
I suspect this guy probably doesn't.

Banksy Painting Bought for £7.00!, by idude on May 6, 2008 10:17:03 GMT 1, I find this entirely possible.
Just imagine the following scenario: Tourist couple in London back in December 2004, walking down Charing Cross Road. Got attracted by the interesting decoration outside Santa's Ghetto. Walked in, bought one signed GWB for themselves, and two unsigned ones for family & friends as Christmas gifts because it has instant appeal and they saw it at the Southbank on a prior visit. Up till recently had no real idea what was hanging on their wall/was still in the original tube somewhere in the attic.
As I said, entirely possible
I was wondering anway how many - now highly sought after -Banksys where still out there in the wild. Would not suprise me if some actually ended up at car boot sales.
