He is requesting a painting from Banksy which would be auctioned to raise money for a childrenโs charity for under privileged children in Bristol.

Loved the way he was trying to be careful not to condone graf as well, and asked him not to paint on a wall. I so hope he turns up and paints something appropriate on the lord mayor's mansion...

Banksy on BBC Points West News, by Hugs on Mar 27, 2008 0:11:50 GMT 1, Of course I've not seen it over here ( how I miss points west...) but does the Lord Mayor know that Bristol has a thriving art community, ok , maybe these other artists may not raise the same amount of money that Banksy would but why not approach ( yes approach) the community and ask them rather than " I know..i'll ask Banksy...now where do I start??"
Bristol is a hot bed for street art and i'm sure that there are at a few members of the graf community that would only be to willing to help especially as it's a childrens charity.
Can someone send him an email and take the fella down Wilder street perhaps ??

Banksy on BBC Points West News, by artpartment on Apr 1, 2008 9:26:00 GMT 1, of course why not also let banksy pay for all the misery in the world.i am everytime for charity auctions but i think its unfair and bullshit that now that the people see how banksys work are getting expensive everybody think he should donated all the time . i personaly think that banksy is quiet generous with many of his projects. and also its shit to ask banksy for a donation in going to the press.thats not a way how to ask for donations.this storry piss me off.

I agree. If you want a donation then ask the artist privately. And if they say no you don't moan about it. After all they get hit up with hundreds of similar requests.
