Advice on obtaining provenance, by ecosmo69 on Mar 25, 2008 16:33:33 GMT 1, I have an old Banksy print from 2003 that i'm thinking of selling. It's pre POW so has no stamp, but it is signed and numbered. It was a gift, so I have no proof of purchase...in fact all i know is it was bought from some gallery around old street..?? can anyone advise me on how i might go about establishing provenance for a print that was bought so many years ago, if indeed it's possible...
any advice would be much appreciated

Advice on obtaining provenance, by leumasdarnley on Mar 25, 2008 16:35:35 GMT 1, dora@picturesonwalls.com you can only verify if that print number was sold to a gallery for resale in most cases.
Give Her the print number and where you thought you bought it.
Then in 6 months they will answer you maybe lol

Maybe if POW charged 10GBP to process each request they could employ someone to do it full time, it would speed things up a fair bit...
