Advice on obtaining provenance, by ecosmo69 on Mar 25, 2008 16:33:33 GMT 1, I have an old Banksy print from 2003 that i'm thinking of selling. It's pre POW so has no stamp, but it is signed and numbered. It was a gift, so I have no proof of purchase...in fact all i know is it was bought from some gallery around old street..?? can anyone advise me on how i might go about establishing provenance for a print that was bought so many years ago, if indeed it's possible...
any advice would be much appreciated
cheers!

Give Her the print number and where you thought you bought it.
Then in 6 months they will answer you maybe lol

Advice on obtaining provenance, by funster on Mar 25, 2008 18:04:36 GMT 1, Last time I emailed Dora I got a response within an hour and was over at the POW offices a few days later. I found them exceptionally helpful considering they're offering a free service.

Advice on obtaining provenance, by doublehelix on Mar 25, 2008 18:38:41 GMT 1, I emailed Dora 8 days ago and haven't heard back yet, so I'm assuming she's snowed under. But like you say it's a free service so no complaints.

Advice on obtaining provenance, by BME on Mar 26, 2008 0:47:57 GMT 1, Good service although a bit slow. To be honest I'd be happy to pay a few quid to have the details provided. Maybe if POW charged 10GBP to process each request they could employ someone to do it full time, it would speed things up a fair bit...
