Best way to package prints for shipment?, by Francis on Feb 18, 2008 4:25:38 GMT 1, What is the best way to package a print to minimize or prevent any damage in a tube? I know it's not the POW single tissue paper only method. What about the roll in tissue, then stuff tissue inside rolled print, then wrap in kraft paper, then insert in tube, then have a cushioning, then cap?
Or is rolled in kraft paper that extends past the print the best method?

Best way to package prints for shipment?, by Ripper1331 on Feb 18, 2008 5:00:36 GMT 1, I cut the craft paper to be the size of the tube so that when the print is rolled in it and in the tube there is no movement. You should be able to shake the tube and not have it move around - if is moving it'll be doing that for it's entire trip which will bash the edges.
Use a strong tube and it should be fine.

Best way to package prints for shipment?, by Fearkiller on Feb 18, 2008 8:48:36 GMT 1, morning,
Agree to the first posts, but for sending prints overseas and for valuable prints I use these for the outer tubes:
Called Thor Transport Tube height adjustable and never experienced any problems.

Best way to package prints for shipment?, by Rourke on Feb 18, 2008 9:26:24 GMT 1, I don't like prints being rolled, so we ship in 2 peices of hardboard, so the print is kept flat at all times, then cover the hardboard in doublewall cardboard
Cheers

Def better than stuffing foam or paper in the ends.
