Change to Postal Charges for tubes, by G-Man on Feb 11, 2008 18:03:32 GMT 1, I'm not sure if this has been covered elsewhere but after reading some confusion on here a few weeks ago I checked...
There has been a change..
If the tube is longer than 60cm long then it can no longer go abroad as a packet and has to be a parcel
This was a nearly ยฃ25 instead of about a tenner to the USA
So check before quoting prices for shipping abroad peeps
;D ;D ;D

Change to Postal Charges for tubes, by Nuno on Feb 11, 2008 18:38:05 GMT 1, i have just sent one to the US.
Post office sent it as Int Airmail small packet, costing ยฃ7.52, i then purchased additional signed for insurance of ยฃ500 for ยฃ5.50, so it cost about ยฃ13 which isnt too bad IMO

Change to Postal Charges for tubes, by Vsix on Feb 11, 2008 23:38:46 GMT 1, It seems to be the same: www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content3?mediaId=22700567&catId=400034
Tubes can still be sent upto 90cm. Small packet can be used as long as there is no personal correspondence.
I often find the counter staff in post offices do not know all the facts and It is worth checking prices on the royal mail site first and printing the information out. The 60cm limit applies to a box, not a tube. it looks like your cashier looked at the wrong information.
