Morons - Sepia (actually this time!), by manchestermike on May 21, 2007 14:07:05 GMT 1, Afternoon all,
I've just got back from a weekend away with the missus where one of the discussions we had was what's the next few prints onto the wall.
We decided - after my other thread about buying a brown sepia to replace the green one that we already had as we preferred the colour that now we actually prefer the green
Therefore the brown coloured sepia must go, so... I'm looking for either cash or part ex - Adam Neate (preferably), if not then Eyestorm Micallef considered.
So, I'm off to the framers now with the greenish sepia morons and friendly fire in hand... any offers on the brown sepia morons?

How do you mean? Why wouldn't I be? Bought a Sepia Morons (green) and decided after seeing all the variants I didn't like it. Actually sent it back to POW to be changed but it came back as there was nothing wrong with it. I decided to then buy another (brown) print as I wanted that colour thinking I could sell the green one to fund it. I've now decided I've changed my mind and want to keep the green one instead - I dropped it at the framers this afternoon - so I'm left with two prints. I've got no need for two of them, and I need to recoup my cash (the brown one wasn't at or near 'face value'!) so one is going, the brown one.

I know what you mean BH, just thought I'd get the one I like on the wall, it's not cost me anything if I sell the other (well the replacement ;D ) so I'm not too fussed ;D

Morons - Sepia (actually this time!), by verbalkint on May 21, 2007 19:00:17 GMT 1, the fa cup final always stinks to high heaven, and yet every year the BBC bangs on and on about how great it is as its all they are allowed to show. I explained the lisencing system to an american business contact and he didnt believe me, when i convinced him it was true he made a good point 'what? and no one complains? you actually let them get away with that?
I dont want to get into a discussion about the BBC as this is obviously not the forum, but am i alone in thinking the fact that just because we live in the uk, we HAVE to pay for a channel and radio stations that we might not watch or listen to is an absolute load of bollocks?

Morons - Sepia (actually this time!), by corblimeylimey on May 21, 2007 19:17:06 GMT 1, I know talking about the BBC is talking off topic but now it's been brought up.....
I'm all for the licence fee and the BBC I think the service you get is better than any provided by commercial channels and it's ad free.
I wonder if I qualify for a fee reduction though, cos I don't watch any sport

Morons - Sepia (actually this time!), by tomhills1 on May 21, 2007 19:50:43 GMT 1, the bbc would work if it were more refined. take the radio stations for example - bbc 7? it has cbeebies on in the afternoon, i've never listened but i'm guessing it's crap.
to my knowledge the bbc is there to offer an alternative to the commercial broadcasters, and should not be chasing viewing figures. it should make a broad spectrum of challenging programmes that would not otherwise be made as perhaps they are not commercially viable. on this basis i am all for it.
the paradox is things like eastenders. if the beeb didn't make it i'm sure channel 5 could, it makes holyoaks look like shakespeare. why get graham norton, jonathon ross and davina mccall on golden megabucks handcuff deals? they'd still be on the telly but we wouldn't be paying for them.
they need to cut out the crap, including their taxi expenses, and concentrate in making the kind of cutting edge dramas, documenteries and comedies that are renowned and sold the world over.
radio stations like radio 3, 5live and 6music are perfect example of the bbc fulfilling their remit. perhaps 1extra, the asian network and radio 4 would be good examples too.
on the whole i agree with it but there is plenty of room for improvement. the alternative is have rupert murdoch and his non biased media running the country. impartiality is paramount.
you were saying mike? ;D
