what to do with damaged Banksy?, by dundermifflin on Feb 7, 2008 4:05:48 GMT 1, I have a damaged Banksy that i am wondering what to do with? it has what looks like a dirty water mark on the right. this happened from my lack of brains when, not realising quite how his star would rise, I just chucked this, and a few other prints, around my office for several years. literally on the floor, etc. no need to say it, yes I feel like an idiot.
the print was given to me by the man himself when he came out to Sydney for an exhibition that I ran in 2003. I now can't sleep nights at the huge amount of Banksy art i had at my finger tips. i could probably retire. at one stage he handed me about 50 prints (of a few varieties) and said keep them because he couldn't be bothered carrying them. I declined cause i honestly didn't really like them. once again, I'm a total moron!
anyway, anyone got any thoughts what i should do? i'm quite happy to let this go at a cheap price because of the damage. i'm sure someone could fix it. i'd also be happy to do a swap.

That means that they could even be worth more than the un numbered prints as they have actually been touched by the man himself!

The little ratbag and and all those poor printers had been getting the blame too! hmmm gift from the artist = release of backdoor print..... sorta different snakes, but thats only my opinion....... and when was it ever mentioned that Banksy was a MAJOR (?) source of backdoor prints........yup been done to deathn next you'll be crediting the bindiver for releasing then, after he pulled that wrecked silver flags from the POW bin..... and this logic coming from the guy who sold a print with provenance to buy backdoors.... LOL ;D |

Subjects been done to death, if you really want to do some reading on it snakes, there are numerous threads from the last 2 1/2 years here regarding the matter covering Prints POW gave out, Banksy's gifts, promotional material, prints stolen from printers, prints touted as test prints, prints being given false provenance etc etc etc...... not much new to add to the subject, but plenty to read up on....

50 is a pretty large amount IMO if they were all un stamped and un numbered!

Rude Copper, Queen Victoria, Bomb Hugger and Have a Nice Day from memory. this was 5 years ago but i'm pretty sure they were the ones he had. we sold some of them at the shop at the event.
