Banksy & Ken Livingstone?, by danvnuk on Feb 1, 2008 22:57:33 GMT 1, Mulling it over, Just like to apologise to Plurker for swearing at him. Really easy to do on the net - not so easy to mouth off in person.
As for the rest of it, as I said earlier - no further comment.

Banksy & Ken Livingstone?, by andrewd on Feb 1, 2008 23:11:52 GMT 1, IMO Ken is not a nice person and is not very good at what he does. He is a good charismatic public speaker and came to talk to us at University many years ago. I was impressed. Then. I am sure that Banksy has better things to do than get involved in London politics. Boris and Paddick are not premier league candidates but Ken is begining to look like a busted flush.

Banksy & Ken Livingstone?, by crazyarsemother on Feb 1, 2008 23:23:01 GMT 1, danvnuk - piccinie is Creole and refers to the picking of the cotton by slaves - someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Its pretty offensive. I think there is a fine line between claiming PC 'gone mad' is ruining the country when you have a genuine concern for trivial laws and a fear of being able to express opinion and using it as an excuse to take us back a few years to when Bernard Manning jokes were just a bit of fun. I suggest that you find out the meaning of a word before you write it off as just 'old fashioned'.

Banksy & Ken Livingstone?, by scavos on Feb 1, 2008 23:23:22 GMT 1, Vote Boris? WTF!? Vote Livingston? WTF!? Not being a Londoner I'm probably not qualified to say much but they both seem as bad as each other. Anyone else in the running? Someone who actually gives a damn about the place as opposed to their ego perhaps?

You took the PC gone mad comment out context, if you bothered to read the post where I made that comment, I was referring to the scouser article in the Spectator- the whole racism issue hadn't reared its ugly head.
And if your going to patronisingly lecture me on the meaning of a word - perhaps you should take some of your own advice and....I don't know...actually know what the word means yourself.
Just a thought.

Totally correct. Good on you Bongo.

Rumour has it that Banksy's running for mayor next time as an independent. According to the research he would have probably won it this year if he ran for it. If he wins, its been reported that he will allow a monkey to represent him for official duties and allow the big decisions to be dictated by asking the monkey to pick either the 'yes' banana or the 'no' banana and web casting it live. He's calling this new system 'primate-ocracy'.

Banksy & Ken Livingstone?, by mcster on Feb 2, 2008 13:07:17 GMT 1, Living in London and having lived in Brixton during Paddick's period in charge of the Police there, I would say it's got to be either him or Ken for the job. Boris is not the man to take charge of a large diverse city. I don't think he's intentionally a bigot, but he would be better off in charge of some where as old fashioned and quaintly British as he is. I don't agree that London has 'a problem' with Eastern Europeans or any other Race, look how many of our building sites are now staffed by people from different races; we'd grind to a halt without them. If Political Correctness is addressing everybody from all parts of the diverse community with the respect they deserve, then sign me up. I wonder what Boris' take on street art is, I'd imagine he'd find it a eyesore....

Agree with Bongo on this one. It's not charisma but hubris Boris has got.
