Off topic but maybe useful for artists/galleries, by Deleted on Jan 14, 2008 21:35:49 GMT 1, Hi all,
Some of you may know that I work for a small startup where we create mobile websites. We recently launched an online tool to help anyone (regardless of technical ability) create a mobile site for free. It's located here:
mobilizer.ubik.com/
Mobilizer can either convert an existing PC site into a mobile one or help the user build one from scratch. Any site created using this tool can be usable for over 4,000 devices as our technology automatically converts the site to the appropriate markup language (HTML, XHTML, cHTML, etc.)
We're working with a number of advertising and marketing agencies to help them create mobile landing pages and micro sites for their advertising campaigns, but we're also interested in getting feedback on the multi media features. I think an interesting application would be for artists and galleries to upload artwork so that people can view it on their mobiles.
Anyway, I was wondering if a few of you could try it out and let me know what you think. Specifically: - Is this something you would use for your business/hobby? - How usable did you find the toolset? - Any suggestions on features/functionality? - Any other comments.
We're also going to deploy some social networking features as well.
I hope this doesn't come across as SPAM as I think the application for artists and galleries is relevant for mobile. THanks!

No worries. Nope you don't need to buy a domain name. Basically, when you create a site, we provide you a domain name like "lastpost.ubik.com". If you have an existing domain name, you can just forward it to that one. Let me know what you think!

Yeah with 1.5 billion phones being sold this year, I think a fair number of people will be using their phones to get information and buy/sell stuff. oh, you can submit feedback to admin@ubik.com. Thanks dudes.
