Look familiar ?, by buddings on Oct 13, 2007 21:52:04 GMT 1, the fact that this piece and also the angel with bullet proof vest have now been found to be done using computers, it kinda makes banksy a bit less good for me. i mean, anyone can put a picture into photoshop and make a stencil from it. i always imagined banksy drawing everything therefore making him an artist rather than someone with the internet and photoshop. i know you can see from his drawings that he does do most stuff alone by drawing along with tracing from newspapers and books but i believe the internet is just too easy, especially for pieces of art which could sell for 100s of thousands.

Look familiar ?, by Rabbitlegs on Oct 13, 2007 22:09:57 GMT 1, Artists have always used all the tools at their disposal, camera obscurers, projectors, stencils, even tracing paper. Why not in this modern age? No one ever said Banksy was Rapheal or Angelo. lets face it, you cant stand on a street corner with a pallette for a month to create a masterpiece. But you can bang a sten up in mins. Plus deliver the wow factor! fair play to him I say.

I know he can't stand there with his oils out, im just saying that I thought most of the images would have been created by him instead of manipulated by him.
There was also a thread on here where people found the original image that B had used for his pieces

Completly agree, if I look at it from a personal point of view as an aspiring artist its actually reasuring seeing that someone like Banksy is useing these methods that have a tendancy to be rideculed
