News about Elms last night..., by Existencil on Oct 5, 2007 9:24:44 GMT 1, I went along last night & was pretty shitfaced after about an hour. They had some really nice cocktails & some very attractive ladies giving them out. Very strong. Went straight to my head. The art was pretty cool too. Adam Neates medium piece was stunning - three men smoking with frosting on the glass to create a smoke effect. Very nice. His other two pieces were just so so as far as I'm concerned, but I know there will be a few who will love the bigger piece. All three of Neates pieces sold out before the preview.
For me, the other standout was Ron English. His three portraits were incredible & I was looking at them for ages.
Space Invader had some pretty good stuff too.
Oh & Dalek's three pieces were AMAZING. Totally new respect for this guys after last nights show.

Why do a preview night if you are selling the pieces before that ?
I can understand the huge list of people wanted his work and it is great, but I find it a bit of a shame for the others really...
