Sending canvasses, by a4mnt on Sept 27, 2007 21:57:01 GMT 1, Is it crated? Should be fine with most carriers if its packed correctly.
Courier systems would probably not be cheap for something like that, but that type of courier might be your only option if the canvas is not in a good wooden crate.
I'd also call courier local to the collection point. I used to work at a courier, so usually couriers outside London are a bit cheaper and easier if you talk to them direct than pay courier systems to do the same thing for you.

Sending canvasses, by sham69 on Sept 28, 2007 9:27:21 GMT 1, Do not under any circumstances use a standard carrier like TNT. It will be a disaster. Have had a delivery from Leonard Street, properly packed and marked and came back damaged. Also watched while the delivery bloke chucked a canvas on the floor before throwing a box of print on top of it. These are among many disasters I've had.
If the piece is worth it use a door to door courier who's less likely to not give a toss. By the way, Leonard Street were very accommodating. Thanks Alexa.
