Antique Type Frames, by johnas on Sept 24, 2007 18:18:29 GMT 1, technically, they're called 'swept' frames and tend to be the most expensive frame type
your local framer should be able to create bespoke sizes, otherwise, search charity shops, antique stores, flea markets etc and try and find one that fits and that doesn't cost the earth!

Antique Type Frames, by cityman on Sept 24, 2007 19:11:47 GMT 1, it depends what you want - moulded frames are cheaper than hand carved. check out junk shops, and if in london, portobello road has loads, but not cheap.

Antique Type Frames, by lastpost on Sept 24, 2007 19:15:57 GMT 1, My framers had a huge catalogue of them...they were reasonably priced too. I guess as cityman mentioned, they are not hand carved...but who's to know!!!
