Apology / License to PRINT money..., by Yessir on Sept 22, 2007 0:28:31 GMT 1, First off I want to APOLOGISE for putting people's Ebay names up in this forum in my old thread NAME THAT FLIPPER  , as this was immature and spiteful on my part ( born out of utter frustration at continually missing out on prints I was after) and on a true reflection of myself I'm sure there are many people the world over who detest the profession I'm in (don't ask  ).
It seems to me that the BLUE-CHIP artists of our scene can do no wrong when it comes to putting out their art.
Antony Micallef is MY favourite artist, I love the two pieces of his work I own FF and JD, but honestly the LAZ prints never did it for me, I just could not connect ( love Micallef's execution, but the concepts were a bit rich for me) .
I was SURE these would have sluggish sales, due to how they were received by forums like this one... BUT the star power of Micallef seems to have won the day and they have all sold out, as we all know.
I obviously have not seen any of these Micallef LAZ prints in the flesh, but what are peoples opinions, who purchased them?

I agree! However, I was lucky enough to get a peacekeeper as my first Micallef, then that same night I was lucky enough to stumble across God I want to be bad while in LA...tis was my lucky day...and cant wait to frame both those fuckers and show them to the world...
as for flippers, it is what it is, i applaud AM for trying to saturate the market, however when all is said and done, hopefully the people who missed out will be able to enjoy one or all four sometime real soon.

I have been collecting art for over 12 years now & I am in the print trade so i have seen just a few fine art prints in my time, but i can honestly the quality of this set is top!

I have been collecting art for over 12 years now & I am in the print trade so i have seen just a few fine art prints in my time, but i can honestly the quality of this set is top!
I hope I get to see them in the flesh, I know his quality is always top notch, but I do think his best works are the ones that are not overly complicated ( barring 21 CL, with is astounding), i.e. the new POW release ( which I missed  ) is vintage Micallef IMO, not too busy and playing right into his strengths, as a "pure artist", if that makes sense.
