with that in mind, can anyone reccomend a good curryhouse form the area suitable for 15-20 people?

If you can go a little further, the empress on Leman street is very nice for the traditional english style curry (madras, rogan, masala etc.) but on Prescot street is Cafe spice namaste, now that is an exceptional curry house. Its about 7 minutes walk from osbourn street (bottom of brick lane).

I absolutely agree. I've not had a decent curry on Brick Lane for years. Tayyabs is superb though.
Trouble is, it seems to be closed for Ramadan...

I recently had my works leaving do there. Everyone enjoyed it. They serve alcohol too.
I've tried most of the restaurants on Brick Lane and I find this one to be the best. I guess there are probably better ones away from the lane but if you're heading there, you won't go wrong with this place.

I could not agree more although this is becoming soooo busy now, the last 2 times I have been we have booked, try and get the VIP room and there have been up to 50 people q'ing outside!!!
Get the mixed grill type thing they do, out of this world...... enjoy
On brick Lane the best by far is The Muhib, great food and great staff.
I have eaten in most and this is the only one i use now, used to be BYO, you can now buy booze there.

Are you planning on putting a takeaway spread on for the queue outside Laz tonight!! Could play havoc with the queue!
