Canvas Problems, by jipsy on Sept 14, 2007 12:23:26 GMT 1, I bought a canvas by a German artist about 7 years ago in Berlin, it's nothing special but my wife and I love it (sentimenatl reasons and all that crap). Anyway we've noticed that the wooden frame that is is mounted on seems to be creating a crease on the actual image. In an unlit room it's fine but as soon as you put the light on you can see a crease running the whole length of the canvas about 11/2 inches in from the side. What can we do? Any help would be appreciated.

Canvas Problems, by wezzley on Sept 14, 2007 12:56:33 GMT 1, sounds like the bars it is stretched onto are just standard pieces of wood with flat edges against the canvas - which would poke through onto the canvas when stretched. With bars like in the link below which have a 'lip' to avoid this very thing, you wouldnt have the problem..

I had a D*Face canvas that was like that when I first got it but after a few months being on the wall the canvas seemed to tighten up a bit and its fine now ;D I guess room temperature, and humidity can effect these things? I should imagine that if a canvas gets sent in the post it can be in cold conditions in the van or sorting office, plus if it rains it could get a bit humid
