Who feels their age?, by Daniel Silk on Sept 7, 2007 16:09:35 GMT 1, I'm 43 and have just filled an 8 ton skip with manky carpet from the house I'm renovating that will need 9 months of work before we move in. I feel about 65. However, it has 12 ft ceilings and will look like a gallery when it's finished. I'm absolutely knackered! sounds a cool project mate - best of luck and make sure you plan where your prints are going!!!
Be nice to see before and after pics! ;D

Who feels their age?, by romanywg on Sept 7, 2007 16:30:14 GMT 1, I'm probably the oldest one on here, just turned 52. But 50 is the new 40, so they tell me. Am fitter, healthier and more active now than when I was 40. I can tell you, life just gets better every day. Once a punk always a punk.

Who feels their age?, by marshman on Sept 7, 2007 16:30:48 GMT 1, I'm 36 soon to be 37, single and no kids and am enjoying everything I can get my hands on. Also looking for love if anyone is interested.... ;D
I do occassionaly feel it after a mental night like last night at Goldie, or a day in my workshop making a piece of furniture for someone.
Most of the time I am stuck at my desk so I love to do something different and help people out, hence why I get plenty of requests and am always darting here and there with my tools making or fixing something.

Who feels their age?, by ABC on Sept 7, 2007 16:44:32 GMT 1, I'm glad there is an "Old git thread" Although I'm a spring chicken at 34 compared to you lot, House, Two kids with one on the way (Imminent) dog, 2 horses (Well the wife has 2) I'm turning into my dad slowly, which is bad as I found myself making a compost heap today and loading it with horse shit (Bags of the smelly stuff if anyone wants some, may also trade a signed Banksy for a few bags of Kent's finest smelly stuff) Ive now got a bad back!! What is nice though is that Ive got 6 years left before I can retire and do something I really enjoy (Paint) Counting down the years already Life Blog over, next old git please.

Who feels their age?, by a4mnt on Sept 7, 2007 16:46:12 GMT 1, Hey Vazie, my original post was asking when am I supposed to feel grown up??
I'm 40 next birthday, but don't feel any different. I don't bother going clubbing anymore, mainly as I wouldn't use the chemical crutches that got me through before, but I'd probably enjoy it straight if the music was right.
I've loved my 30's. Much better than my 20's. And if life begins at 40, then bring it on. And it will. I'm single, so in theory I'll meet another love of my life hopefully, just starting a brand new career with the best pay packet i've ever had and own a cracking flat in a good area. And of course I've discovered the joy of counter culture art and all the sound people that follow it like me.
So no complaints from me about age. I'm used to the back aches and stuff and i've learnt to sleep earlier and try (i use the word liberally) to drink less. I even pick up kids with confidence nowadays.
So as you say, be happy and smile - a positive attitude - its definitely the thing that has taken me this far unscathed!
;D

Just kidding mate - I would have said you were in your early 40's.

Secondly, any chance you're gonna tell us how come you can retire at 40?
Good money in compost, eh? Ha ha (joking)

I jetissoned the 'mum and dad' several years ago and have better nights out than when I was mashed. Admittedly i listen to better music now though
I love the old stuff as well. Love cranking up my ipod when i'm getting home drunk, with some banging techno or old school rave. Rave was just brilliant in my opinion. I only caught the tail end, early 90's, but was lucky enough to experiece a Raindance rave, in a huge warehouse, the whole place pulsating, girls in catsuits ..........hold on .....choe release. Finish this later.....

Who feels their age?, by mammal2 on Sept 7, 2007 20:01:41 GMT 1, I think its the having kids that makes you old before your time. I think its the responsibility Im over forty (just), no kids, no ties and very happy, i work in music and am surround by young talented people, i go to clubs and festivals the same as did 20 years ago. Then i see my friends some of whom are younger than with families etc They look at least ten years older me.. go figure. But Curely i thought you were 82

Yeh good idea.
I'll start a seperate renovation thread with some pics, it is a wreck but with a load of original features. Fellow board members, electricians, plumbers, stonemasons feel free to contribute advice / ideas - it's an old property that we are going to modernise, the wife keeps telling me we are going for a modern restrained eclectic classical glamour - yeh I know! Original cornicing with lutron lighting that kind of thing!
Anyway there are lots of walls!
I already have a special place for the Parla!
My back is still not recovered from yesterday and I still feel 65.

Who feels their age?, by curiousgeorge on Sept 8, 2007 14:15:35 GMT 1, I turned 34 recently and inside feel like i'm in my 20's. LOL i still feel inside i can run 100 meters at around 11.23 (from my school days) Slowly understanding that my body won't do the things it would do 20 years ago.
I felt fine till my other half said if we are to add to the family then it has to happen next year, no pressure then!
I agree the 20 somethings should get out of this thread
