It's a great film- very informative. I saw it at the San Francisco Film Festival last April. It covers a lot of ground, including the division in the US military whose job involved protecting and returning stolen art, the rift between Germany and Russia over stolen art (that continues to this day) and some of the art and architecture destroyed during WWII. I never new Pisa was not originally known for the leaning tower....

I watched a similar doc. recently about the treasures of Babylon that were lost (stolen) by Russia during the war. Russia swore up and down for almost 50 years that they had nothing to do with the treasure. It turned out they had these priceless artifacts stored under the front stairs of a museum in Moscow....museum patrons walked right over the top of them for almost a half a century before the truth came out.
