mercury prize?, by jipsy on Sept 6, 2007 6:57:57 GMT 1, The good thing is that the Mercury prize is often the career kiss of death and in this case I hope history repeats itself, then the Klaxons can run off back to Sevenoaks to get bitty from Mummy and join Daddy's firm. yeah nice one, previous winners dizzee rascal and the arctic monkeys are complete flops now arent they?!
I did say "often the career kiss of death". If you don't think so then go and ask M-People or Ms Dynamite or Gomez or Roni Size or Talvin Sing or nip down to your local chippy and ask Badly Drawn Boy. Heard much from PJ Harvey or Pulp lately?

I caught 10 minutes of Dizzee at Reading last year...one of the worse live acts I've ever seen, I fucked off after 15mins and went to the pub

roni size and Talvin Sing were never mainstream in the first place, pulp would have gone up their own arse mercury or no mercury - drugs and egos pulled them apart. Badly drawn boy is just a singer/songwriter so you can't ever expect anything thats gonna blow you away anyway. ms dynamite and gomez are pretty much dead but i could name you a thousand artists that have made one half decent album and then gone to shit on the next. m-people are shite and it was obviously just a very poor year for music. pj harveys award clashed with 9/11 so no-one gave a fuck. i'm not havin a go at you, i expect you just saw an article in the daily mail saying "mercury kiss of death" and latched onto it. if you wanna talk about the kiss of death lets talk about noel gallagher....

Yes I did read it in the Daily Mail, it's one of the more popular newspapers here in Munich . I get all my music news from either The Star or the Mail and I get my friends to post me out recorded episodes of Popworld just to keep me up to date.
