Art & Music - Like Drugs & Rock'n Roll, by stuey09 on Aug 24, 2007 22:17:53 GMT 1, It's not my cup of tea Neil. Never been a major fan of old Sidney, so wouldn't want him on my wall.
What do you think of Peter Blakes Clash picture though?

Love it...
By the way Sid might not be your cup of tea but Pietro (as you know) worked with Andy Warhol at the Factory. This piece is beautiful and it also has a fantastic history from being hung on the walls of Madam Wongs Punk Club in LA, to being owned by actor Jason Miller and being hung at the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas.
God if I could turn back the years.....
I recounted this story in another thread which has been deleted / censored!!!. I caught the Clash at the Ulster Hall when Joe was fronting the band and Mick had left (did catch Mick at a later date with Big Audio Dynamite). Opening song played behind a curtain to silhouettes - London Calling
My mate jumped up on stage (he sang in a local band and look a bit like Mick Jones). He is about to be thrown off the stage by the bouncers as countless others did when Joe Strummer walked over and put his arm around his shoulder and walked him to the back of the stage. They stood there for a moment, turned and walked to the front of the stage and sang a duet of Bank Robber..... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
He has dined on this story forever.

Art & Music - Like Drugs & Rock'n Roll, by discoduster on Aug 24, 2007 22:44:15 GMT 1, What a story!!
Mine's nowhere near as good as that but used to see Joe Strummer all the time drinking at Roger Wilkins cider farm. He only ever spoke about the band if you asked him something about The Clash otherwise he just used to get cidered up with everyone else. Legend!!

Art & Music - Like Drugs & Rock'n Roll, by romanywg on Aug 24, 2007 22:54:09 GMT 1, Here's a photo I took of Joe live at The Music Machine, Camden Town. The Pistols had broken up about 6 months previously and some fat bloke joined The Clash on stage. It was took us a while to recognise it was Steve Jones. Got some photos of the 2 together in my archives.

Old Jonesy's still piling it on. He's definately living the dream.

Art & Music - Like Drugs & Rock'n Roll, by romanywg on Aug 24, 2007 23:15:52 GMT 1, After the Bank Holiday weekend I'll sort my photos out and post some more. This one is a digital photo of an original 10x8 I had lying around so the quality looks Kack here. I had some blown up to 20 x 14 and they looked great. Was hoping to get an exhibition together on the 30th Anniversary but too busy in the end. If anyone wanted some prints I'll do them at cost + postage. I have Banshees, Clash, Sid Vicious, Jam, Generation X, Ian Dury, Iggy Pop....the list goes on, all circa 1977-79.

Art & Music - Like Drugs & Rock'n Roll, by romanywg on Aug 24, 2007 23:38:48 GMT 1, I used to sell 10x8's for 60p each. Here's the flyer I made up on a page selling prostitutes from some sex magazine at the time.
Faile must have seen it and it inspired them............not.
