Banksy collector/fan demographic, by blacksy on Feb 27, 2007 9:58:54 GMT 1, I heard from a friend recently that city traders are cashing in while they can. Apparently they have been known to soend their days trying to snap them up any way they can.
Surely a print will reach a certain amount, and then stay there, the price cannot keep rising and rising. after all, we are talking about paper prints here, not gold bullion (it might as well be!)
If you check out the Love is in the air auction that went on EBay recently (the one that featured banksy in the balaclava) the winning bidder has spent a fortune on art since Christmas. God only knows how he's funding it, but i know for sure, if i came across alot of money all of a sudden, i wouldnt be wandering around buying up a property for £220k, sitting on it for a year to sell on for a £20k profit! Art Art Art seems to be the new big investment.
Its a shame to think that everyone is cashing in, when it comes to genuine fans buying and selling prints we risk all being tarred with the same brush! buying to sell looks like it is being "frowned upon" by POW especially since they introduced the maximum amount in the shopping carts.
I personally would buy replicated prints, not to fund an illegal racket! simply because i would love to put alot more banksy & related artists upon my walls.
How long will it be before we can all log onto allposters.com and click on art, and instead of being greeted with the warhol flower, and the warhol marilyn, or the litchensteins, the hockneys, and we find the likes of Banksy/Dface/Cauty/baldwin, all onsale for a tenner a piece!

Pro - getting time off for team refresh is easy
Con - spend to much time refreshing and you can't afford to buy anything as you haven't earnt any money
