Will AM's signed prices ever match Banksy?, by a4mnt on Aug 16, 2007 22:16:40 GMT 1, Age old question I'm sure....but after watching another signed Barcode go for £8600....originally £150 3 years ago or so, I wonder whether Mic's prices will ever go that crazy.
Clearly banksy's signed/unsigned policy makes a difference, but the Mic Eyestorm prints are lower editions....lots of factors no doubt....but in a nutshell will Micallef's Eyestorm or POW prints (not Laz) go for upwards of £5k one day.

A MWIH sold for 4.5k last month, so it's possible, if not probable.

Looks like that 5k mark is old news. this time next year? dunno but that run of 95 seems awfully small compared to banksys 150+ signed....
I reckon Micallef is gunna surpass banksy before his time is out....

Will AM's signed prices ever match Banksy?, by Deleted on Aug 17, 2007 6:20:37 GMT 1, dirty deluxe £5204 with 2 days 15 hours to go. a real bargain was had the other day on ebay, a friendly fire went for £2150ish.
imo the prints already in circulation may well level off or even drop a small amount around show time. there are going to be lots of people spending a lot of money on mic's new stuff. i am sure that if this do's happen, it will be a very temporay dip and that his prices will then rise steadily over the following couple of years during the world tour. but what do i know, this credit squeeze could change it all.

Will AM's signed prices ever match Banksy?, by jam on Aug 17, 2007 6:52:01 GMT 1, I love Micallef's work, but I think the current prices are well above where they should be. People are snatching them up regardless of price before the LA show this time, like they all wished they did before the Banksy show. I expect a large amount of Micallef prints will be on the market in forums and on ebay within a few days after the show opens by everyone hoping to cash out of the prints they speculated on. We will see many guys asking 8-10k for stuff they bought last month for 4k, and with the flood of prints, supply will outweigh demand so prices will fall across the board. If you want any of the nicer prints like 21st, DD, etc... just wait for the flood gates to open and stand by with cash in hand, it will be a buyers market.

No doubt people are speculating but it'll hardly be floodgates when there were only 95 produced of most of the eyestorm prints

I dont think you can compare the prices of POW editions and the eyestorm releases either in aesthetic quality or value. The eyestorms hav 95 editions with a whole image, where as the pow releases are 300 editions with a figure floating in the middle of the page

Would anyone kindly sell me Angel Bomber #1 at cost please? Or am I too late for a gesture of this kind?

Mmmm... Although im extremley jealous i didnt get a judgement day ( i agreed a price on here and he tried to mug me off) by the time i got to eyestorm i was glad to see prints that take up the whole from. Most of the street art work is a figure/ building/objects sitting in the middle of a huge sheet of paper, im not taking away from the composition because there all amazing but i like to see someone make use of there canvas. .... and was I talking about originals no, i clearly said prints

Will AM's signed prices ever match Banksy?, by neutral on Aug 17, 2007 10:30:17 GMT 1, Micallef is surely not street art. What I was referring to on your comment, is the JD is a close replica of the canvas, so for Angel Bomber 1 and 2, they are replica of the charcoal drawings. When you mentioned they are figures in the middle of the paper sheet, despite the fact of being replicas, they reflect the originals so your comment will be also valid for these originals pieces then? Friendly Fire is an exeption as it has been turned portrait, as for SMS I do not know but it is it my favorite print of all.
Composition in the page are down to the originals ( Head, selfportrait, JD...) . If not the artist will probably decide not the printer. POW and Eyestorm's prints can not be compare.

composition wise though i was really dissapointed when i saw the heads, the paper feels way too small for them ( from me its a case of the green eyed monster, but ive been on the receiving end of very greedy people when it comes to AM)

Dunno personally think the buyer has got a pretty good price.
