Need shipping advice to States, by sugarcane on Aug 11, 2007 19:16:46 GMT 1, Hello,
I am happy to have recently purchased a Neate Cold War (even if it was from the bay). The seller is claiming insured shipping for 2k gbp will cost 150 gbp. Is this accurate...and what are shipping options or alternatives. I have received about 5 print shipments from the UK and none has ever been this high.
A little insight and advice is appreciated.
thanks

Need shipping advice to States, by Photoxtc on Aug 11, 2007 19:44:08 GMT 1, on something like that I would pay for the shipping myself and do overnight, 150 seems pretty damn high.. I am in the states and have original framed art shipped for less than that overnight... I have had someone ripped me off for shipping cost before so on big ticket items I always have shipped myself, even from galleries...

Need shipping advice to States, by mose on Aug 11, 2007 19:49:04 GMT 1, that sounds stunningly ridiculous. Really, really bad.
The biggest artwork I ever had shipped from the UK was Micallef 21st Century Love, which was in the 'built like a fortress' Eyestorm flat packaging. The shipping was only $85 USD.
Another shipment was Giant Freak, Shibuya Crossing, Girl Tokyo in a huge tube insured, registered, etc. Shipping was $90 USD.

Need shipping advice to States, by Ripper1331 on Aug 11, 2007 21:56:59 GMT 1, What means is the seller sending it by? If it's by Fedex or UPS that is a little high but close to what I would expect to pay. Also the insurance on it would cost extra as the base coverage is only $100.

I sent a print to London from the US and it cost me $140 USD to overnight it with FedEx. Shouldn't be much different coming the other way. Good luck!
