Elliot, by ThursdayFeeling on Jul 31, 2007 23:43:57 GMT 1, Has the bubble burst on Elliot ?
I see the prices on Ebay have come down significantly.
Hopefully this should put flippers off tomorrow and there should be an opportunity to buy one and have time to give a little thought to the colourway.
No sign of the price yet ?

Elliot, by irf2112 on Aug 1, 2007 10:46:51 GMT 1, bubble? I dont think Elliot had a bubble to burst in the first place. A bit of hype fueled by newbies on this forum - but again hype is for today, talent will take you into tomorrow...

Elliot, by corblimeylimey on Aug 1, 2007 11:35:17 GMT 1, Elliots soupcan print which was sold for only £25 has been changing hands on ebay for over £200 the last one sold for £80, I'm happy with mine, it'll never be sold. An excellent fun cheap alternative to outrageously expensive Banksy & Warhol editions.
If you don't like Elliot's stuff, don't buy it, I myself have only bought the soupcan, I'm sure there's lots of people out there that only own 1 piece by an artist, you're not tied in to buy everything they do. I'll judge each piece on my opinion of it's merits and I wouldn't rule out something by Elliot in the future.

Elliot, by adrscib on Aug 1, 2007 13:34:22 GMT 1, that £80 soupcan was bought by me... i own the canvas, the print as a present for my sister as it brings a smile to whoever sees it. i'm an avid collector of elliot even despite the negative feeling on this board.
Apparently if the price of the prints stop climbing everyone will start dumping and critizing the artist...

Elliot, by irf2112 on Aug 1, 2007 13:48:03 GMT 1, I think its more to do with the actual art itself.
Bullingdon and Rembrant... The images say nothing at all...

Elliot, by carlito on Aug 1, 2007 13:52:36 GMT 1, personally I don't view a connection between the price on Ebay and the quality of the art..all Ebay shows you is how popular a piece currently is - if you're looking to make money this is the God u follow (or more importantly try to predict)

Elliot, by goffy on Aug 1, 2007 14:38:58 GMT 1, Unfortunately, some people do associate how much a print on ebay goes for with how good the artist is. Some people on here that are now slagging Dan Baldwin off are the same people who were buying up a lot of his stuff including vases not so long ago, but now they can't make a profit on them. And what are they buying now........Beejoir!
It has been said time and time again by many people on this forum, not everyone likes the same artists, but buy what you do like and you can't go wrong.

Ive never purchased anything of Dans - and i still think he's 'average'... I wanted to write shit but that would have peed a few members off

spot on..I have no time for the crap elliot produces, which is a shame because the premise was good- a group of people get together to make affordable art..great
except the arts no good and it is either derivative (soupcan) or total cack like the other two

Elliot, by corblimeylimey on Aug 1, 2007 18:06:14 GMT 1, As I said before, if you don't like it don't buy it.
Out of all the art out there, I buy very little of what falls into my price range, therefore most of it just isn't good enough in my eyes, I don't keep banging on about how crap I think it is.
No one needs to be told art is crap, it's obvious to everyone of us what we think is good or what we like.
If my mother was to rate the art we talk about on this forum she'd say it's all crap and that the good stuff is the traditional landscape oil paintings.
