Evolving Styles @ Cargo 20/7/07 Nick Walker Pics, by ohmygosh on Jul 24, 2007 14:04:19 GMT 1, I can confirm it was Great Ormond Street Hospital, i have worked here for 2 years...
If anybody would like to donate any proceeds from prints or get involved with the hospital in any capacity, pm me and i'll be able to help out, it truly is a remarkable place.
I often take people on tours of the hospital and some of the condition the kids have to put up with e.g. 10 children on dialysis machines in a 15ft x 15ft room with windows that barely open in 30 degree heat, lifts not big enough to fit the beds into meaning taking the child out of the bed and causing distress and generally having to perform groundbreaking life-saving surgery in cramped and outdated surroundings.
One of the main buildings is the oldest hospital building in London being built in the 1930's.
We aim to redevelop the whole site in the 10 years but this means raising £500 million towards this project, currently we are raising around £26 million per year so there is a huge challenge ahead.
Like i said, pm me for any more info or go to gosh.org
thanks

Evolving Styles @ Cargo 20/7/07 Nick Walker Pics, by goffy on Jul 24, 2007 21:47:31 GMT 1, Regarding Gt Ormond St Hospital, If you really want to help a Children's Hospital I suggest you help your local one. My wife worked in G.O.S.H. for 7 years and she tells me that they have plenty of money. G.O.S.H. is very well known, it gets lots of money from Celeb events etc. They get all of the Royalties from Peter Pan and have a booming private wing which earns a fortune from Middle Eastern clients. They get that many toys that they have loads that are still in their wrappers locked in a cupboard somewhere. I don't mean to diss G.O.S.H. because like all children's hospitals they do a great job, but think of your local hospital first. Which most of you with kids probably have experience of.
