Chris Stain, by slowmo on Jul 27, 2007 11:23:08 GMT 1, You can see a few in the flesh at found. I was actually disappointed when I saw them, having seen the stuff online, something was lost in translation as oppposed to looking better. I am not sure how good a representation the work at found is of his other work out there, any opinions owners of his work?

One of the best prints I've seen for £25!!

Chris Stain, by Strange Al on Jul 27, 2007 11:39:53 GMT 1, I love Chris' work. His stencil style is immediately recognisable and all of his images are very evocative. He's a really nice guy too.
He's definitely been discussed on here before and has something of a following on Wall Candy. From what I remember he really came to the fore when people heard about his collaborative works with Swoon. He's definitely an artist who has experienced the "forum effect". Painting for years with mixed success and then a mention on the forum(s) and things go ballistic.
That's not to say his success isn't completely deserved. I'm a big fan!

He has a two page feature in Tristan Manco's Stencil Graffit book, something of an early pioneer. Printmaker and artist from Baltimore working mainly on metal. Had a kid and dropped out of the scene for a while. Couple of Swoon collaborations and he's back on track. Hooked up with Virtual Resistance and Justseeds.
Well worth supporting. Try and go direct to him instead of paying UK prices which seem to be x 5
