I picked this Alana Richards piece up from a French gallery several months back.
Thought her work might be worthy of some discussion. To be honest I am not sure myself. Some of the stuff is a bit weak from an impact perspective and I tend to buy art more from an imagery and impact perspective rather than the deep rooted meaning. Which is a problem being based in Ireland and not being able to view pieces 1st hand (God I wish I lived in London - Especially on the 19th of July - TLSG). I also think you have to live with art for a while to really get a feel for it (my local galleries will let me take the work home to be with it for a while without any commit). And then there is the issue of the mood your in!!
Personally theres nothing worse than when I hang a new piece and someone asks "what does it mean?" I have given up trying to answer.

The prices are good and it gives you the opportunity to listen to a nice French lady on the phone for a couple of minutes!!

Not because I don't like Micallef (I'm a big fan) but because the influence looked a bit too much. But its not bad in real life. I like the Princess one but my 3 year old will be reading in a year or so.
