Early Print Provenance, by baronschwarz on Jun 23, 2007 9:39:49 GMT 1, Hi. I have three prints bought from the Greenleaf bookshop in Bristol in 2003. They were sent in an ordinary cardboard tube with no provenance because, at the time, Banksy was still thought of as a regular street artist and people were mostly buying cause they liked the work.
The prints are numbered but unsigned and one of them (Happy Choppers) has a couple of small creases in it because that's how it was made and sold. I was only lucky enough to get it because someone else decided they didn't want it and returned it to the shop.
Is there any way of getting early prints like these verified? The other prints are a Laugh Now and a Queen Victoria.
Many thanks.
